A Different Kind of Client Relationship

By Miles Harley

After almost 30 years in events, I thought I had a pretty good handle on what strong client relationships look like.

I’ve had great clients, loyal clients, clients who came back year after year. But nothing, genuinely nothing, matches the level of trust I’ve seen since joining Origination Global.

What’s struck me most in these first few months is how certain clients are about us. In my early client calls to introduce myself I was keen to find out whether they’d think of us for their next leadership meeting or a major client event. They looked genuinely surprised I was even asking. To them it wasn’t a consideration. It was automatic.

And when you watch John Saunders and Sophie Duncombe Edwards up close, it makes perfect sense. Their calm is the kind that settles a room. Their knowledge on what can turn just an event, into something truly special, is incredible. It's simple...to them. Their judgement is the kind people lean on instinctively. It’s real leadership presence, not the performative kind.

Clients don’t just trust Origination as a company. They trust them as people. Completely. And seeing that trust in action after so many years in this industry has been both surprising and refreshing.

It’s a different kind of client relationship. And I’m proud to be part of it.
